The Xenos flyer runs to 56 pages, from Monday 7 September all the way to Saturday 10 October, thirty-four days. Among the thirteen flyers scanned today it has the longest window and the lowest density, at 1.6 pages a day. Thirty-four days covers five weekends, which means five chances to go rather than one. But Xenos has a second flyer out today as well: 23 pages running 7 to 20 September. Both start on the same day, one ends on 20 September and the other on 10 October, so from 21 September onwards only this booklet still counts.

The difference between the shop’s two flyers is what this page is really flagging: both start on 7 September, but one ends on 20 September and this one on 10 October. For the fortnight from 7 to 20 September both are live and the pages add up to 56 plus 23, or 79. From 21 September only these 56 remain. So if you note a price in mid-September and go to buy in early October, check which booklet that page came from: if it was the short one, it expired weeks earlier.
