What you need to know
The Makro flyer runs to 54 pages, from Wednesday 9 September to Sunday 20 September, twelve days. Among today’s thirteen it has the third longest window, behind Xenos at thirty-four days and de Bijenkorf at thirty. But it differs from the other twelve in a structural way: Makro is a wholesaler and its stores are not open to everyone. So whether the prices in this booklet can apply to you at all turns first on eligibility rather than on money. Settling that before doing any arithmetic saves more time than doing the arithmetic first.
- The Makro flyer: 54 pages, valid 9 to 20 September 2026. (source 1)
- The window runs twelve days across two weekends, the third longest of today’s thirteen. (source 1)
- One flyer shares the start date: Lidl also begins on Wednesday 9 September but stops on 13 September. (source 2)
- Two others also run to 20 September: Kruidvat at 93 pages and the shorter Xenos flyer at 23. (source 3)
Density is 54 over 12, or 4.5 pages a day, on the low side of today’s thirteen, which makes this a flyer you can take slowly. Twelve days across two weekends means two chances to go rather than one.
A wholesaler’s arithmetic differs from a supermarket’s, and the difference is pack size: divide the case price by the number of units in the case to get a unit price, then compare that with what you normally pay per unit. A case of twenty-four tins at X euro is X over 24 a tin, and the trip only pays if that figure beats the supermarket unit price and you will genuinely get through twenty-four before the date on them. The trap in wholesale pricing is never the unit price, it is the quantity: buy twenty-four, drink eight, let the rest expire, and your real unit price is higher than the supermarket’s.
Hokimi field note: settle whether you can enter the shop before spending time on unit prices. A wholesaler’s admission rules are not a supermarket’s, and that check happens at the door rather than at the till.
