If you run a snack bar, the end of September is when the next round of stock gets planned: chips, croquettes, drinks, plus takeaway boxes and napkins. The cover of this 9-page Sligro BIG DEALS flyer says it is for stocking your cafetaria at a good price, and the footer marks it issue 13, valid from Thursday 24 September to Monday 12 October 2026, nineteen days in all.

Two things matter most. First, the small print states that all prices exclude VAT and apply in the Netherlands only. Second, most lines are tiered: Aviko Pommy’Plus chilled chips in a box of 2 × 5 kilo, formerly 19,99 euro, cost 15,99 euro for one box, 14,99 euro a box from four and 13,99 euro a box from eight. Per kilo that is about 1,60, 1,50 and 1,40 euro. The sum is the single-box price minus the per-box price of your tier, times the number of boxes, equals what you save; eight boxes save 16,00 euro in one go, but you pay 111,92 euro up front before VAT and need to use 80 kilo of chilled chips within the date on the box.

The issue falls into three blocks:

• Fried snacks: Kern Frikandellen Extra, a box of 40 at 85 gram each, cost 11,99 euro for one box and 9,99 euro a box from eight, which takes each piece from about 0,30 to about 0,25 euro. Kern Arriba, a box of 15, costs 12,99 euro, 11,99 from three boxes and 10,99 from six. Note that some lines use four and eight boxes as tiers while others use three and six.
• Drinks: Fanta and Sprite in trays of 24 cans of 33 cl cost 15,99 euro for one tray, 15,50 a tray for three of the same, and 14,99 a tray for six of the same, about 0,67 down to 0,62 euro a can. Dezelfde trays means the tier only counts for identical trays. The small print says promotional prices on beer and cider apply to self-service collection only.
• Takeaway packaging: Take Dis bags, burger boxes, milkshake cups, snack forks and napkins, each shown as a Bijvoorbeeld example, such as 500 single-ply napkins for 3,51 euro (was 4,39) and 200 wooden forks for 5,03 euro (was 6,29). On that page every one of the six examples is exactly 0,80 of its former price.

Because the prices exclude VAT, convert them before comparing with a price that includes it: food and drinks in the Netherlands generally carry 9 per cent, so multiply by 1,09, while packaging carries 21 per cent, so multiply by 1,21. The eight-box chilled chips at 13,99 euro come to about 15,25 euro including 9 per cent.

Worth noting: the flyer gives no stock per branch and says nothing about how long the chilled products keep, beyond the date panel printed on the box. Before ordering, check how many boxes your kitchen really uses in a week, stretch that over the nineteen days of this issue, and see whether four boxes or eight is the tier you will actually get through.
