What you need to know

This issue opens on Monday, with the corner flash reading Vanaf maandag 21.09, runs to 47 pages and ends on Sunday 27 September. The biggest tile on the cover is a 24-pack of soft drinks at 9,99 euro, with a yellow panel beside it reading elsewhere 20,99 euro, which looks like an easy win.

Under that panel sits a line of asterisked small print: bought on 28 August 2026 at Albert Heijn online. The comparison is therefore a single reading taken roughly four weeks before this issue starts, not this week’s shelf price. Checking it yourself is quick: divide both sides by 24 cans, so 9,99 comes to about 0,42 a can and 20,99 to about 0,87, then replace 20,99 with what your own shop charges today and divide again. A second thing shapes what you actually pay: several flashes read Met Lidl Plus, which means the discount needs the loyalty app. Dutch Conference pears at 0,99 euro a kilo, flashed at minus 45 per cent against a former 1,79, Zespri green kiwi at 3,99 a kilo, flashed at minus 33 against 5,99, and a KORDAAT premium pils crate of 24 by 0,3 litre at 6,37, flashed at minus 25 against 8,49, all sit behind the app. An avocado at 0,99 each against 1,29 and a 910 gram piece of matured Gouda at 6,49 against 8,45, both at minus 23 per cent, do not.

The three items the store page singles out each answer a different need:

  • Clipper Thee 30-50 g, € 1,99. Tea is rarely a trip of its own; it gets remembered once the box is empty. This is a restocking line rather than a tasting one, so a household that drinks the same blend week after week saves a separate errand by picking up two or three boxes during a normal shop. Note that the pack is given as a range of 30 to 50 gram, and the number of bags differs between blends, so judge value by the bag count printed on the box rather than the weight.
  • Calvé Mayonaise of Yofresh, € 1,69. This tile is an either-or at one price, which suits a fridge where the sauce is running low and both versions get used. Yofresh is yoghurt-based and mayonnaise is egg-based, so they behave differently in a salad or a sandwich, and a shared price does not make them interchangeable. Look at which jar your household actually finished this month and buy that one, rather than taking both because the price matches.
  • Pepsi of 7-Up 24x0,33L, € 9,99. A full crate suits a household that entertains on a fixed rhythm or an office that shares a fridge. It is also the only tile here carrying a cross-shop comparison, so it is the one worth running the sum above on. Before committing, check the space: 24 cans take up real room, and spread over several weeks the unit price may not beat two large bottles bought as you go.

A third style of wording runs through the issue and needs separating out. All canned soups in 800 ml are shown from 0,99 euro, with small print stating that this is the chicken soup price and that the offer prices vary between 0,99 and 1,73. In the same way SENSEO packs of 16 to 36 are 4,39 euro flashed at up to minus 37 per cent, with two former prices printed, 5,81 and 6,98. Wherever from or up to appears, the sum has to be run again with the numbers of the variant you would genuinely take.

Worth noting: the SILVERCREST double airfryer at 59,99 euro against a former 71,99 carries its own line, Vanaf zaterdag 26.09, so it does not reach the shelf until Saturday 26 September rather than when the issue opens on the 21st. The flyer gives no stock per branch either. Fix the day you will go first, then check which tiles are actually buyable on that day.
