Anne Frank House tickets are released Tuesdays at 10am for the day six weeks later: today opened 20 October

The Anne Frank House stands at Westermarkt 20 in Amsterdam and opens daily from 9:00 to 22:00, but plenty of visitors only discover at the door that they cannot get in. The museum puts it plainly: tickets are sold through its website only and never at the door. The part that catches people out is the release mechanism. Every Tuesday at 10am CEST, all tickets for a visit exactly six weeks later go on sale at once. Today is Tuesday 8 September, so this morning at ten the date that opened was 20 October. The first thing to do is therefore not to buy a ticket but to count six weeks back from the day you want, and be at a screen that Tuesday morning. Adults pay 16.50 euro, ages 10 to 17 pay 7.00 and ages 0 to 9 pay 1.00, each including a 1.00 euro booking fee.

Book for everyone in one go, because the time slot is chosen for the whole group. If you are bringing a child under ten the fare is only 1.00 euro, but that is a child ticket, not free entry — book it with the rest.
