Accademia Gallery in Florence: Michelangelo's 5.17 m David for EUR 31 with an audio guide app, or EUR 20 plus a EUR 4 booking fee

In August 1873 the David was moved out of Piazza della Signoria in Florence and waited nine years in a wooden box while the architect Emilio De Fabris built a hall for it. A visit to the Accademia today is a visit to that 517 cm, 5,560 kg marble figure. The Galleria dell'Accademia says it holds more sculptures by Michelangelo than anywhere else in the world, and that today's museum took shape in 1882; Michelangelo carved the David between 1501 and 1504, commissioned in August 1501 by the cathedral works for 400 ducats.
